About us
Crafting Maritime Excellence
At Sentinel Maritime Solutions, our mission is to deliver trusted, practical maritime services that empower vessel owners, operators, and fishing communities to work smarter, stay compliant, and grow sustainably.
Rooted in the historic port city of New Bedford, MA, we provide hands-on expertise in cybersecurity solutions, vessel registration and documentation, sustainable fisheries advisory, fleet modernization, and maritime crewing — built on the kind of deep industry knowledge that only comes from years on the waterfront.
As we expand into the Caribbean and beyond, we carry that same commitment with us: connecting underserved maritime communities to the services, structure, and opportunity they deserve.
The Opportunity Nobody Is Talking About
While investors chase saturated markets, the Caribbean maritime economy sits largely untouched. Over half a million people across the Caribbean depend directly or indirectly on fisheries and aquaculture, yet the sector remains informal, under-resourced, and cut off from the markets that could transform it. The region's maritime waters cover over 2.2 million km² — more than 4.5 times its total land area — a resource base that is barely being managed, let alone developed. This isn't a problem without a solution. It's a market without a champion. Sentinel wants to be that champion.
Sentinel brings what this region needs most: sustainable fisheries advisory, fleet modernization, and maritime workforce development — grounded in real expertise, delivered through real partnerships with governments, fishing communities, and industry. We're not looking for passive capital. We're looking for partners and investors ready to build something that lasts and believe in doing well by doing good — companies, foundations, governments, and individuals who want to be part of building a more connected, more prosperous Caribbean maritime economy from the ground up. If that's you, we'd love to talk.
Why Haiti — And Why Now?
The case for Haiti is written in its own numbers. An estimated 115,000 Haitians work in fishing and related activities, supporting livelihoods for over 416,000 people — yet artisanal fisheries, contributing over 82% of total fish production, operate almost entirely without formal structure or modern equipment. Of Haiti's roughly 28,000 active fishing boats, fewer than 1,200 have engines — keeping fishers locked to coastal waters and far below what the country's marine resources could sustainably yield. The result: only one third of the fish Haitians consume comes from local fisheries.
Haiti is importing protein it could be producing. That gap — between what exists and what's possible — is exactly where Sentinel operates.
Through fleet modernization, sustainable fisheries advisory, workforce development, and vessel registration support, we're working to formalize and energize a sector that already sustains hundreds of thousands of lives. The infrastructure just needs to catch up with the people who depend on it.
